Inovasi Digital Layanan Akademik Melalui Sistem Informasi Akademik (Siakad) Sebagai Upaya Transformasi Administrasi Kampus Di Universitas Pattimura
Abstract
The rapid development of information technology has encouraged various educational institutions to adapt to digital systems in providing academic services. Pattimura University, as a state university in Ambon, has also transformed its campus administration through the implementation of the Academic Information System (SIAKAD). This study aims to analyze how the implementation of SIAKAD at Pattimura University contributes to increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of academic services, identify challenges in implementing digital innovation, and assess the impact of digital transformation on the quality of campus administrative governance. The research method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, where data is obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation studies. Primary data were obtained from interviews with system managers, lecturers, administrative staff, and student users of SIAKAD. Meanwhile, secondary data were obtained from journals, books, and online sources relevant to academic information systems. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of SIAKAD has a positive impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of academic services. Students can carry out academic activities such as completing KRS (Student Study Plan), checking grades, and accessing academic information online and in real time without having to come to campus. Lecturers and educational staff are also assisted in managing academic data more quickly, accurately, and transparently. In addition to improving work efficiency, SIAKAD also plays a role in encouraging digital innovation and transforming administrative culture towards modern, data-driven campus governance. However, several challenges remain during its implementation, including limited network infrastructure, differences in digital literacy skills among users, and the need for consistent institutional policies to support system development. Therefore, efforts are needed to strengthen technological infrastructure, improve human resource competencies, and integrate information systems comprehensively so that SIAKAD can function optimally as an instrument for campus digital transformation. Overall, the implementation of SIAKAD at Pattimura University not only improves the quality of academic services but also represents a concrete step towards realizing the vision of a "smart campus" that is innovative, efficient, and competitive in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0.
